Effective Date: July 25, 2026
FlickerInsight (“the App”, “we”, “us”) is provided by Micky Wang. This Privacy Policy explains what information the App accesses, how it is used, and the choices you have. The App is designed to work entirely on your device, without any network communication.
By installing and using the App, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.
We do not collect, receive, or process any of the following:
The App contains no advertising networks, no analytics or tracking SDKs, no login or account system, and no app-initiated network requests.
The App requests two permissions to perform its function. Data from these sensors is processed in real time on your device and is not stored or transmitted, except where you explicitly save a result.
The following items are stored only on your device until you delete them or uninstall the App:
| Data | Purpose | Location |
|---|---|---|
| Measurement results (numeric flicker metrics) | Your history and comparison view | On-device storage |
| Source snapshots (still images) | Identify the setup you measured | On-device storage |
| Notes and sensitivity entries you add | Your personal records | On-device storage |
| App settings and preferences | Remember your choices (e.g., frequency unit, language) | On-device, via system Settings/UserDefaults |
None of this data leaves your device through the App.
The App includes an optional, off-by-default local diagnostic log. When you turn it on in Settings, it records measurement status, frame rates, errors, and operation results — not video frames or source snapshots — to a file on your device. This log:
You are never required to enable this log to use the App.
The App offers a “Send Feedback” option. If you use it and have an email account configured in the system Mail app, the App composes a pre-filled email addressed to Micky.Wang@outlook.com. You review and send it yourself.
The App is intended for general audiences and does not knowingly collect any personal information from anyone, including children under 13. No data collection occurs regardless of the user’s age.
Because all data stays on your device, you control it directly:
The App does not retain any data on any server, so no separate server-side deletion request is needed.
The App does not use any third-party analytics, advertising, crash-reporting, or tracking services. It links to no external services.
The only external interaction is the system Mail app, which you initiate yourself when sending feedback.
Since the App collects no personal data, traditional data-access and deletion requests do not apply. However, you always retain full control through the on-device deletion methods in Section 7, and by managing the Camera and Motion permissions in your device’s system settings at any time (Settings → Privacy & Security).
The App works the same way everywhere. Because no data ever leaves your device, your data never crosses borders through the App, and no data is stored in any specific country or region.
The App was designed around the principle that data the App never collects cannot be breached. All data you generate remains under the physical security of your own device. No data is transmitted over a network, so there is no transmission channel for the App to protect or for an attacker to intercept through the App.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Effective Date” at the top of this document. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
Because the App does not collect contact information, we cannot notify you directly of changes; please check this page or the App’s release notes.
This Privacy Policy describes the App’s behavior as the software is designed. If you would like to inspect the implementation, the source code is available in this repository.
